There’s something about The Cottonettes' look that brings a British aesthetic to mind, similar in aura to bands of the late 2000s indie-rock scene; nothing like the ‘77 culture that would have been part of the Oi/Punk! scene. And yet, the band have seamlessly merged these two incompatible genres together. Undoubtedly the band’s appointment as an “Oi! Pop” band is a truthful identification of the sound.
Hailing from the Surrey/Hampshire borders The Cottonettes were formed by Cockney twanged ragamuffin, Benjamin Madle with his former rival, curly haired gobsh*te, Josh Young then later joined by international playboy, Adam Broadbent. Since 2012 infectious punk has spread like sars gaining admirers from respected music industry figures in BBC radio, Amazing Radio, Bella Union, The Huffington Post, Kerrang! and most importantly astute eared music lovers.
