He brings club culture and jazz at the center of his universe and gives an urge to his crowd to dance/gives the urge of dancing to his crowd.

Kuna Maze has played alongside accomplished producers, such as Nosaj Thing, Flako, Lapalux, Machinedrum - to name a few. He has also brought his live shows and DJ sets to European stages such as Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival, Les Nuits Sonores and Mirage Festival. His music has garnered support from tastemakers such as Gilles Peterson (BBC 6Music/Worldwide FM), Lefto, Soulection, Anz (Radio 1), and Gordon Giesking (Finest Ego, Project Mooncircle).

With his latest release “My Fish is Burning” that came out in Octobre 2021, Kuna Maze has found a home on the Brighton-staple Tru Thoughts, turning his hand to the resurgent sounds of jazz-infused broken beat. Influenced by the jazz-funk of Azymuth, the broken beat of Domu and house music of Moodymann, his last release is the more ebullient relation to Kuna Maze’s previous EP, the introspective “Backward” that garnered support from Jamz Supernova (BBC 1Xtra), Okayplayer and Nubya Garcia.

His musical exploration within club culture will continue to show through with his forthcoming debut album due to release in March 2023 on Tru Thoughts records. Producing in solo, he’s now playing his shows with a live band. Together they offer a performance where the energy of the musicians and the audience meet and reproduce the same warmth and energy that was found in jazz clubs back then and electronic clubs now.
