House of K | Album | 2013 |
They see it as a way to 'sparkle & believe' and share their synth pop 'party' with the masses. With influences like 'Osman Hamdi Bey's art, Tennessee Williams' literature and Warhol's wit, they are idealists in search of the 'Pagan truth'. They believe that modern nostalgia is 'still at large' and keep 'the illusion' very much alive with their songs.
Always believing in 'the kindness of strangers' the band went back to the studio in late 2012 and completed their first commercial release "House of K". The album was mixed by Mike Nielsen (of Underworld, Jamiroquai and Pet Shop Boys fame) at Babajim İstanbul Studios & Mastering and released by MMY Records on August 2013.
Kitschcraft were founded in 2002 by Özüm Özgülgen (aka Joel Knox) and Gökhan Kantar. Their previous body of work consists of 3 self-published EPs and 2 non-commercial digital albums.

The bands' previous project "100" received a warm welcome by press and public with an innovative release consisting of 100 crowd-sourced album covers designed by fans, artists and professionals they admire from the world of acting, photography, music, fashion and the arts.
Kitschcraft consider themselves an inspirational formation that blends its own sense of nostalgia with popular culture. The band has aimed to create a unique world through inspirations, references that are dear to them… and "all that glitters" in an old-school posture.
Artistically, and especially lyrically, the band has been influenced by early Manic Street Preachers, but they have created a wider spectrum through exploring both mainstream and underground music. This is reflected in their synth-pop, new wave, electro-pop sound.
