Sam Garrett began his journey playing in bands in his local area but before long was writing songs of a different nature. Sam found himself withdrawn from his surroundings as the rest were drinking, playing football or chasing girls, instead writing songs and becoming one with nature which began the journey of his spiritual awakening. Citing Eckhart Tolle, Mooji and Ramana Maharshi as his main spiritual influences, Sam began to explore the way of life through his teachers, living in an Ashram in Glastonbury which was devoted to the Hindu God, Krishna.
Spiritual expeditions to Spain and India followed which enhanced his spiritual enlightenment, so he began to express his feelings in the way he best knows how, music. His first EP, ‘Be Easy’ explains the beginning of his journey as he tried to make sense of the change within him. 2014 Sam dropped his second EP to which he describes; ‘as if there was a divine force within me that wanted me to express my understanding through music’ to which Sam showed gratitude for, aptly titling the EP ‘Namaste’. Sam’s music speaks to the conscious, instils hope and offers a sense of togetherness and belonging told in a warm, natural manner with his folky, reggae vibe.
With a development and publishing deal secured (with Dcypha Productions and Bucks Music Group respectively) 2016 sees Sam take his music to the next stage, showing his growth as an enlightened being and perfecting his musical blessing. ‘Sam Garrett Grace Acoustics’ project, (pt.1 scheduled for release on 30th September), will give an insight to his highly anticipated LP, ‘Grace’, which promises to uplift, to inspire and to enjoy, delivered by Sams’ true uniqueness.
