BERLIN.PARIS.MOSKAU.HOLLYWOOD
The Premier Swingtett takes the audience on a trip to four capitals which couldn’t be more interesting and more different:
Uli Hoffmeier, born in Berlin and has been playing guitar and violin for 20 years in the world famous “Palastorchester mit seinem Sänger Max Raabe“.
Edouard Pennes from Paris has played bass with the best of the best in Paris, fusing jazz manouche with bebop and swing. He is a member of the “RP Quartet”.
Vladimir Miller studied clarinet in Moscow at the time of the “Iron curtain“. Luckily he took his accordion with him when he escaped some 30 years ago to (West)Berlin where he stayed. Guitarist Brad Brose is the young “Fastfinger“ from Los Angeles. He touried the US with Stocholo Rosenberg. In Paris, where is currently living, he plays with Samy Daussat.
American Swing meets French chansons and Russian soul runs into Berliner Herz und Schnauze (heart and jaws). The group is singing and swinging quite naturally the songs from German talkies of the 30’s, Parisian Musette, Russian Gypsy Songs and tunes from films that made Hollywood famous. It's authentic and convincing because the musicians are deeply rooted in the music of their home-towns where they grew up and started their professional musical careers.
