Travellin Soldier | Single | 2014 |
The group were signed to Decca Records to record and release the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal single in 2013 and they performed live in front of the Queen and the Royal Family, and thousands at the annual Festival of Remembrance. Their single reached number 13 in the UK Official Charts and the girls went on to record a top 30 selling album.
Once the project finished and the girls went their separate ways, Megan concentrated on her solo career and in 2014 she released her debut single 'Travelling Soldier'. The single went to number 1 in the UK & Irish Hotdisc Country Charts, where it remained for 6 weeks and Megan's re-worked version of the US hit by the Dixie Chicks also earned her an award as the best new-comer artist in the Hotdisc Country Charts and she was also nominated for the best single of 2015, finishing 3rd.
In addition to the songs featured in the Media section, Megan covers a range of genres and performs music from Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Train, Adele, The Lumineers, Vance Joy, the Proclaimers, Dougie McLean and Bon Iver, to name a few. All of her songs are stripped back and performed acoustically to give a unique twist on the original version.
Over the past 18 months, Megan has performed at a number of high profile events including the British Golf Open at St Andrews, West Sound Radio and West FM 'Burns' Celebration and she has also sang in front of 35,000 spectators at one of the premier Scottish football stadiums.
