Gottfried Tadashi Forck (Cello), Raphael Gamper (Guitar) and Maximilian Wolfgang Schwarz (Drums&Percussion) first met at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock. In an ambitious push towards new kinds of electronic chamber music and previously unheard sound constructs, the band have created certain compositional channels through which their rich and diverse backgrounds find footing.
The traditional and the modern merge; coexisting to produce a new and reflected sound-mixture; Analogue electronics produced live - blend with digital pre-production, giving breathe to new soundscapes and effects which are then adapted further, live, through sampling. This coming together of classical composition and a hybrid of electronic sounds and production techniques, lends itself to the exploration of new musical territory. The blending of complex polyrhythmic and propulsive beats creates an ever-shifting balance between dance and concertante music. The focal points of maTrigal’s musical vision are indeed based upon this kind of shifting, transformative relation between musical elements old and new.
In November 2019 “maTrigal” published their first EP “Age Of The Golden Dragon”. The band is currently working on new tracks for a full length album. They are scheduled to play a diverse line-up of concerts in 2020.
