9, 2015, debuted at #35 on the CMJ Jazz Chart and placed #2 on the CMJ Jazz Top 5 Ad Charts. It is A collection of eight original songs penned by Mills, along with two classic Jobim tunes and one song composed by Sting/Eric Clapton. Recordings began February 2015 at Samurai Hotel Studios, NYC with critically acclaimed New York-based musicians pianist Klaus Mueller, bassist/guitarist Itaiguara Brandao and drummer/percussionist Portihno. Grammy-winning sound engineer, David Darlington of Bass Hit Studios mixed and mastered the cd in August 2015. Official CD release concert is scheduled for November 11 at the legendary jazz club, Zinc Bar.
Kristine will join Grammy nominated pianist and composer, Jeff Franzel with bassist Saadi Zain at the legendary Metropolitan Room on March 21 in New York City to perform Formative Females & Iconic Voices a selection of songs performed by Kristine’s most favorite and inspired female vocalists. Mills debuts this show with Franzel February 19 in a private concert
to benefit Dress for Success, Houston.
In addition to many appearances at the Metropolitan Room, Duplex and Zinc Bar in New York, Kristine has played sold-out shows in theaters and performing arts centers as guest vocalist with the Duke Ellington Orchestra and headliner for the Brazilian International Jazz Festival in Sao Paolo, Recife, Rio, and Belo Horizonte. She also performed at Snug Harbor in New Orleans, Cezanne’s and The House of Blues in Houston, and was Artist-In-Residence at Hotel ZaZa Houston.
Winner of the Houston Press Music Awards, Best Female Vocalist and Best Songwriter, Mills has also been nominated for Best Pop Artist, Best Jazz and Musician of the Year. She is also among the 2013 Houston Press Rocks off 100 - Houston’s Most Distinguished Artists and a 2012 Houston Arts Alliance for Established Individual Artists Grant Recipient. Mills won a Gold REMI Award for her soundtrack written for the documentary film Collector’s Waltz.

Soundtrack for Collector’s Waltz :: Nine original songs composed, produced and recorded by Mills for the Gold REMI Award-winning documentary. Features performances by Duke Ellington Orchestra alums: Tommy “TJ” James, pianist and conductor, with Shelley Carrol, saxophone, along with a who’s-who of Houston-based classical and jazz musicians.
Patch of Green (single) :: June 2012 Concerts for New York City Greens Songwriting Contest semi-finalist. Song performed in NYC at the Tudor City Concert for City Green Summer Series and the Metropolitan Room.
bossanovafied :: Third album received international acclaim and airplay. Debuted at #46 on Jazz Week World Music Album Chart, February 2010. The sultry, hot, bossa nova collection of Mills’ original songs were recorded in Rio de Janeiro. Short-listed 54th Grammy nomination consideration “Best Jazz with Vocals Album.”
