The Unsigned Only Music Competition is open to all artists from anywhere in the world (including solo artists, bands, and singers) who are unsigned to a major record label (indie labels are eligible). Unsigned Only's goal is to give artists exposure, recognition, and validation for their artistry.
Unsigned Only accepts all styles and genres of music including AAA (Adult Album Alternative), AC (Adult Contemporary), Americana, Blues, Christian, Country, EDM (Electronic Dance Music), Folk/Singer-Songwriter, Instrumental, Jazz, Latin Music, Pop/Top 40, R&B/Hip-Hop, Rock, Screen Shot (songs suitable for music licensing), Teen (for artists 18 years old and younger), Vocal Performance, and World Music.
Please note: cover versions are eligible in all categories except Screen Shot.
Judges include Aimee Mann, Cedric Gervais, Daughtry, Ryan Adams, LoCash, Black Francis (The Pixies), Darryl McDaniels (Run DMC), Linda Perry, Robert Smith (The Cure), Sanctus Real, MNEK, and more. Additional judges include music journalists, talent buyers, artist managers, licensing executives, and many more.
The Grand Prize winner will take home $20,000 USD in cash (plus additional prizes) and receive one-on-one mentoring by an elite group of record company executives. All winners will share in over $150,000 in cash and prizes, which includes both First and Second Place winners in each category.
Previous winners include Ingrid Andress (Warner Nashville) who is currently nominated for three Grammys including Best New Artist and Faouzia (Atlantic Records) who recently released the single "Minefields," a duet with the iconic artist John Legend. Other notable winners include BélO, Goodbye June, Anna Wolf, Wes Mack, Eric Ethridge, and more.
