What makes music 'PSYCHEDELIC'? Is it the wavy jangle of the guitar; the irresistible groovy baseline or the tribal beat of the drums?
Nowadays, the Psych music spectrum is so vast and diverse that we can mention Tame Impala and Black Sabbath in the same sentence. Here at Nambucca we plan on celebrating that variety with our new monthly event with gigmit called SIKE!
In the mid-part of the 2010’s Nambucca provided a platform for many of the forerunners of the London nu-folk scene, with artists such as Frank Turner, Marcus Mumford and Laura Marling performing there regularly.
Prior to that it also was a staple of the burgeoning indie-scene led by The Libertines and many successful bands performed early gigs there including Florence & The Machine, Maximo Park and The Holloways who were actually formed at the venue and played their first gig there.
This is your chance to write a new chapter in Nambucca's story by playing in one of London's best live music venues!
Every first/second Thursday of the month we are looking for 4 bands to play at Nambucca. From classic Psychedelia to Kraut Rock all the way over to Surf Punk... if you think you fit the bill then APPLY NOW!
