Blissett und Zerothehero gegründet. Das erste offizielle Album "Carefull" erschien 2004 und wurde von Mellow Records produziert. Im selben Jahr steigt Dorian Deminstrel als Sänger und Gitarrist (akustisch) mit ein. Im Jahre 2006 produzierte die Band selbst die erste EP "25 Grams" in derer sich ihre persönliche musikalische Identität spiegelt: Electric und Vintage Rock mit Progressive Einflüssen.

2010 war die Veröffentlichung von "Better Than Jesus": eine mehr direktere Platte, eine Hard-Rock "weiterentwicklung" mit psychedelischen Elementen und komplexer Kompositionen. Im selben Jahr nimmt Kaius den Platz von Stefano Firpo als Drummer ein und die Band ging wieder in das Studio um an den Details des zweiten Kapitels ihrer Trilogie zu arbeiten: "The Face Of Evil" (produziert von Blood Rock Records) erschien 2013 als CD und später auch als Doppel LP (inklusive Bonustrack "The Sealed Room" ein Soundtrack eines Kurzfilmes von 1909, aufgenommen Januar 2014 im Elfish Recording Studio ). 2014 ersetzte Mercante di Sogni den Keyborder Claudio Ferreri und die Band machte weiter,mit vielen Konzerten, Werbung für ihr Album.
2015 änderte sich die Bandbesetzung erneut. Während AJ Blissett als Komponist im Hintergung arbeitete spielt Neuzugang Alefuzz Caorsi die Gitarrensolos. Im Moment macht Fungus weiterhin Werbung für "Face Of Evil" und arbeitet zeitgleich schon am dritten und letzten Kapitel ihrer Trilogie "The Key Of The Garden".

Fungus was born in Genoa in 2002, as an evolution of a improvisation project, by Alejandro J. Blissett and Zerothehero.
In 2004 the first official album was released: "Careful!" (Mellow Records); in the same year Dorian Deminstrel joined on vocals and acoustic guitar.
In 2006 the first EP,"25 grams", was produced; hence, it begins to take shape a new group identity: electric and vintage rock with progressive temptations.
2010 marks the release of "Better Than Jesus", a direct disc, an "evolved" hard rock, which does not hesitate psychedelic expansions and more complex compositions.
In the same year Cajo replaces Stefano Firpo and the group enters the studio again to define the arrangements of the second chapter of their trilogy: "The Face Of Evil" (Blood Rock Records), released in 2013 on CD (it will become, later, a double vinyl, thanks to the bonus track "The Sealed Room" soundtrack of a short film from 1909)
In 2014 Merchant of Dreams replaces Claudio Ferreri at keyboards and the group continues the promotion of the album.
In 2015 there is another change of line-up: AJ Blissett officially becomes composer of the band and AKAfuzz Caorsi is the new lead guitarist.
Currently Fungus is continuing the promotion of "The Face Of Evil" and is already working on the definition of the third and final chapter of the trilogy, "The Key Of The Garden".
