The festival is looking to book at least 3 artists/bands via gigmit.com to perform live. Selected bands will be provided with a fee of 200 Euro and catering. Additional compensation (like backline) could be negotiated. Numerous alternative and electronic artists will be performing alongside exhibitions, panels, lectures, workshops and film screenings during the festival week.
2014’s edition again features two guest-countries. That means that 6 to 8 acts from a sum of 100 will come from each of those focus-countries. Both guest countries will be features on special panels at the Waves Conference. Other key topics will be live business, music streaming services and best practice from the wide field of music marketing.
Waves Vienna is the first club and showcase festival in Vienna. The extremely remarkable attendance of international delegates and journalists from more than 25 countries at the Waves Music Conference proves the huge interest in the conference’s subject “East Meets West” and hence positions Vienna on the European map for music conferences.
In the course of 4 days, Waves Vienna presented more than 100 acts from 18 countries on 12 stages in Vienna. Between Wednesday and Sunday, more than 10,000 people visited the festival and watched 4.2 performances on average. Artists from all over the world from genres like Singer/Songwriter, Electronica, Dance, Alternative, Rock, Folk and Rap/Hip-Hop performed at the festival.
