ELEPHANT: THE NEXT BIG THING Sunny, melancholy and in a major key.

That is the sound of the 4-piece indie band 'Elephant.' The band was born in the year in which a virus almost knocked out the music industry. Against their better judgment but with full dedication, they threw themselves at songwriting. They retreat to their greenhouse studio amidst fields of bok choy and Chinese cabbage, on the outskirts of Rotterdam.

Elephant convinces with its distinctive approach, sound and songs and has been signed by legendary Dutch record label Excelsior Recordings since fall 2021. Their album ‘Big Thing,’ recorded with Pablo van de Poel (DeWolff) in the analogue Electrosaurus Southern Sound Studio, will be released in 2022.

Elephant’s subtle grooves, beautiful melodies and sobering but hopeful lyrics seem to catch on. Their single ‘Calling’ was on repeat on Dutch national NPO radio 2 and peaked at the 3th position of the ‘verrukkelijke 15’ chart of Dutch national radio. Recently, they made a big impression with their show on Europe's main showcase festival Eurosonic Noorderslag. The Dutch national press talked about ‘the musical discovery of the mesmerizing indie guitars of Elephant’ (Volkskrant) and a ‘softly purring, cheerful feast with friendly waving indie rock’ (NRC)

Elephant is marked as the new indie/roots band that just might make a difference in the coming years.
