Influenced by their favourite bands (such as The Stereophonics, Foo Fighters and Green Day) Chasing Shadows aim to create an upbeat and exciting sound with catchy melodies.
With four EP’s already released (Alive in Wonderland (2016), Storytellers (2017), Darker Days (2019) and Runaways (2021)) the band have seen their music reach all corners of the globe, with radio plays in the UK (BBC Radio Wales and local radio) and America as well as in countries as far afield as South Africa and Hong Kong.
The band have over 200 gigs under their belt with festival appearances at Formby Festival, Little Dragon Festival (supporting Scouting for Girls) and were selected as the supporting artist at the Rhyl date of their our. Also, they have had gigs at Academy venues across Manchester and Liverpool, were also selected to play at Indie Music Week Manchester and Focus Wales and were finalists for Rock the House in London . Now the music scene is starting to make a welcome return, the band will be returning to gig at HMV Chester as well as gigging continually across the local area.
The Darker Days EP saw the band return to their rockier roots. The first tracks taken from the EP were ‘Warning Signs’ and ‘Hollywood Girl’. ‘Warning Signs’ received radio play in America, Australia, Germany and the UK, and currently has over 1,500 streams on YouTube and or 5,000 on Spotify, with ‘Hollywood Girl’ which was played on BBC Introducing Wales . In addition to this, the video was featured on IndiMusic TV and was given excellent feedback. Chasing Shadows are now following up on the success of these tracks with the new single ‘Open Your Eyes’, which has featured on BBC Introducing Wales and has become a firm favourite with the fans.
Having been awarded a grant from BBC Horizons/Gorwelion, Chasing Shadows have been back in the studio recording their fifth EP, which is undoubtedly their best work to date. The first single from this is out now, with Bullets receiving numerous postivie reviews as well as playlisting and radio play both locally, nationally and internationally.
In addition to this, our lead singer, Sam, lost his eyesight last year after having some medical complications, and he loves to take any opportunity he can to show that having a disability shouldn’t stop you achieving what you want to achieve.
