About the event

We are delighted to announce that gigmit will develop Europe's first open cultural space in a metaverse! Together with our two amazing project partners +PlusRender and Kontentwerk and co-funded through the European Union, we will build a virtual space where artists can host digital events, such as live music concert, audiovisual exhibitions and film screenings, all with a high level of audience interaction.

Over the past two years, we've seen some of the biggest names in music, like Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, Lil Nas X, Twenty One Pilots, and David Guetta, venture into the Metaverse to perform their first-ever digital live shows. These shows are not intended to replace real-life concerts, but instead offer a unique opportunity for artists to express themselves and tell their stories in the digital realm. With digital live events, artists can offer their fans unforgettable experiences without limitations in space, creativity, or geography. The concerts of stars like Ariana Grande in Fortnite or Lil Nas X in Roblox attracted millions of attendees from all over the world, and fans could even buy merchandise from their favorite artists during the shows. While some concerts were pre-recorded and made available in-world afterwards, Justin Bieber's platform Waves and the Metaverse Music Festival in Decentraland took a live approach, featuring acts like Björk and Ozzy Osbourne over a four-day period.

CWXP will enable creators to create and monetize unique audiovisual works, using the metaverse cultural space to exhibit and sell their NFTs. Artists can offer exclusive music, film or experimental content, alongside their performances.

Moreover CWXP will assist creators to set up blockchain-based transactions to earn and track revenue in the metaverse. They can sell tickets and digital content, split the revenue across multiple contributors and rights-holders, and track ongoing use and revenue

Although indie artists have yet to receive the same media buzz as their more prominent counterparts, there are already concerts taking place that aren't backed by big labels. For example, the blockchain-based streaming service Emanate hosts Metaverse Parties to provide a space for lesser-known artists to showcase their talents. In an effort to open up the world of digital concerts to even more European indie artists, CWXP is specifically aiming to create high-quality virtual concerts.

Apply now to become one of the first acts to perform at this unique 3D virtual location!
