Archetype besteht aus ehemaligen Mitgliedern der Bands Malstrom, Fear the Abyss, Our First Cat und Reinvention.
Inspiriert von Bands wie In Flames und Dark Tranquillity hat die Band ihren eigenen Stil modernen melodischen Metals geschaffen. Treibende Gitarrenriffs und Death Metal Vocals paaren sich mit ruhigen, melodischen Parts und lassen so eine ganz eigene Atmosphäre entstehen.
Ihre erste EP "Reflections", die 5 Songs umfasst, ist seit September 2014 erhältlich.

Archetype is a Metal-Band from Böblingen, Germany, formed in 2013. Archetype consists of former members of the bands Malstrom, Fear the Abyss, Our First Cat and Reinvention.
Inspired by bands like In Flames and Dark Tranquillity, Archetype form their very own type of Modern Melodic Metal. Heavy guitars and brutal Death-Metal vocals are combined with calm and melodic parts to create a uniqe atmosphere.
Their first EP "Reflections", which consists of five songs, was released in September 2014.
