Punx Is Techno | Album | 2016 |
Starting out in punk bands and living in punk houses as a teenager, they turned to DJing in their late teens and quickly became a fixture in Philadelphia nightlife. After a brief but legendary run of raves at the 5th & Cecil B. Moore warehouse, Dentana went on to hold residencies at nearly every major club in the city. For the past five years, their high-energy sets have been central to the Gayborhood’s dance floors.
Known for blending Baltimore, Philly, and Jersey club with techno, hip-hop, and classic dance, Dentana creates sets that are both unpredictable and deeply rooted. Beyond the booth, they’ve built inclusive nightlife spaces through parties like Extra Dark and Saint Queer—currently on hiatus—that have amplified BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ voices across the scene.
Their debut solo album, Punx is Techno (End Result Productions), marked a defining statement and led to a regional tour, including a standout performance at Detroit’s Leland City Club. Now based in a Fishtown studio, Dentana continues to expand their sonic world through collaborations, live sets, and a relentless presence in Philadelphia’s clubs.
